Rebrand!...Of Sorts. Oh, Right, Hiiiii!

So, five years, eh?  Yes, it's a long time, I realise that.

A lot has happened; got busy with work - became a trainer for  my then-employer, Transcom, changed jobs to Cogeco (tech support), 

dealt with wedding planning woes, moved to the big city, 

and of course, got married.

So how do I have time, now?

Well, life has calmed down a lot since, particularly since I don't have to deal with any big personal projects in the near future.

The name remains, but the game has changed.

So, how?

For starters, Thrown Controllers is going to become more hardware- and tech-oriented.

My goal is to start teaching people things as well as having meaningful conversations about technology.

Because contrary to popular belief, it doesn't.  Just.  Fucking.  Work.

Okay, okay and we'll talk about gaming, too.  A little.  Particularly the frustrations of modern user interfaces for Joe (or Joanne) Average.

Maybe some actual games.

We'll see.

The main goals of this will be to help people navigate the travails of modern technology, particularly multimedia.

Also, the tone is going to change.  I'm going to be more "technical"; i.e. I'm going to turn my filter off and let myself swear; be a bit more human. 

If that bothers you, stick around a little, it'll grow on you - and you'll be able to brag to your friends about the cool techie stuff you're learning!

Aaaand, technology can drive us nuts, I think it's only fair you see it warts and all.  

Especially since I'm pretty sure many of you have sworn a blue streak over some of the issues you've encountered - and maybe even some of the solutions.
